Los Feliz: Hip, Fun, Eclectic
Los Feliz is a great community located right here in Los Angeles, and has tons of things going on nonstop. Just a short walk from Griffith Park, is the hustle and bustle at the heart of Los Feliz. Here’s a few events that you should check out:
Keep it Clean Comedy Night — Every Monday at 10:30 PM at The Public House, working comics in LA come to work on their sets for their showcase material. It’s FREE! And the public house has soooo many beers.
Farmers’ Markets — There are two Farmers’ Markets in Los Feliz this week, and every week. There’s one at Barnsdall Art Park on Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and the other at the Los Feliz Post Office on Sundays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra — Every Wednesday at 9pm, the divine & magical Jeff Goldblum gets his Jazz piano on at the Rockwell Table & Stage. It’s a can’t miss show, full of jazz, comedy and joy!
Public Star Party— Once a month, the Griffith Observatory hosts a Public Star Party on the grounds from 2-9:30pm, with telescopes available to the public to view the heavens and see and learn just what the heck those floaty specks in the sky are. Learn more about the Star Parties and get the calendar here.
More Reasons Why Los Feliz Is The Best:
1. Are You a New Yorker at Heart?
If you’ve ever lived in New York City, or visited NYC, and walked down the sidewalks of Midtown West, Greenwich Village, or the Lower East Side, you know that there’s a certain feel that can’t be duplicated. Well, try walking down Vermont Ave in Los Feliz, from about Prospect up to Franklin Ave, steps away from any home in Los Feliz. The sidewalk cafes, fun random shops, ice cream parlors, old brick apartments above bars, and lively people watching will capture that feel as well as anything in Los Angeles.
2. Love Nature and Hate Driving?
So I don’t know if you’ve heard, but Griffith Park is pretty awesome. Hike, bike, grill out, play tennis, golf, ride a tiny train, gaze up at huge old trains, star gaze at the observatory, catch breath-taking sunsets, and just play in nature, all steps away from your new home in Los Feliz.
3. Wish You Lived in a Small Town?
The great things that go along with a small town, like community, small shops, saying good morning to people you know, personable service, and quaint homes and landscapes, can all be found right here in Los Feliz. If you get a home in Los Feliz, you’ll get that relaxing feel of the small town, while still being close to all the action you DO love about Los Angeles.
4. Are You a Foodie?
Some people were born to eat, and eat well. If you’re one of those people, living in a home near Los Feliz would be a perfect fit, since top-notch restaurants and foodie havens are scattered all over this hot little neighborhood. Mediterranean, Thai, Italian, Turkish, Middle Eastern, Indian, American Fusions, classic diners, unique desert shops, bakeries….my mouth is watering. Walk down Hillhurst or Vermont in Los Feliz, and I dare you not to eat.
5. Are You a Movie Buff?
What’s better than one beautiful, old movie theater within walking distance that transports you back to the Golden Age of cinema? Two old movie theaters within walking distance! The Vista and the Los Feliz Three are the quintessential nostalgic movie houses, showing ranges of movies from brand new blockbusters, to new and old indies, and also special nights, matinees, and events where you can see some of your old favorites. Back to the New York thing, if you miss the old movie houses from Woody Allen’s New York, living in Los Feliz is your ticket.
6. Are You Looking for a Totally Amazing Real Estate Team?
Okay, okay, we might be a little biased when it comes to Los Feliz, because The LA Homegirl’s office is located in Los Feliz! Even though we work all over Los Angeles, we spend so much time on Hillhurst Avenue that we might as well live here. Stop by and say hi to our office manager, who’s in the office Monday-Friday, or contact us to schedule a face to face with the whole team! We’d love to meet you and say hi!
