My Fav Workout Spots on the East Side!

It takes a lot of work to slay in mom jeans….which is why I am going to give the lowdown on places to work out around Echo Park. When I first bought my home, I noticed we were lacking places to work out! Not any more. Here are some of my favs! BAR Lets start with Bar Method on Sunset. It’s the perfect place for some serious ballerina butt kicking! I’ve been, I’ve cried…. somehow, I keep going back for more! The instructors are great, the locker room is neat and clean and the packages are affordable. PILATES Pilates and Arts Echo Park is hands down my favorite pilates venue! It’s just up Echo Park Ave, across from Baxter Preschool. The best thing about Pilates and Arts is they offer mat, reformer, jump board and dance classes! You get a bit of everything there. P&A was a life saver during and after my pregnancy. Tannis, the owner also has frequent […]

Kids in North East Los Angeles

A lot of buyers that are exploring areas in NELA (Silver Lake, Echo Park, Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Frogtown, Glassell Park, Cypress Park) ask us what in the world do they do with their kids? We closed on our home in Echo Park when our daughter was still in my belly! We moved from Beachwood Canyon and a lot of our friends were curious about how we were going to raise our daughter in an “urban jungle”! lol There are a million things to do in NELA if you have a little one. Here are some of my favorites: Babies: Join Moms clubs! Silverlake Moms and Atwater Moms are pretty gangster. They are close and do amazing things like host Santa breakfast and drop off casseroles after you have your baby! They are also a fab resource for preschools, day cares, nannies, etc on the east side. Don’t miss an opportunity to be a part of their world! Echo Parks […]

New (and oldies but goodies we are just getting around to) restaurants in NELA.

How have we just now made it to Recess Eatery in Highland Park??? After a successful listing appointment last weekend in Glassell Park (BOOYAH! you’ll have the details soon), our team went to Recess Eatery on York. The sun was shining, the music was pumping and it was a perfect day for a fresh watermelon mimosa and a burger. I absolutely loved the service, food and the vibe and will absolutely be having more meetings here! Also, have you had the opportunity to check out Sawyer in Silverlake? It is about time we had seafood inland!   I actually think I moved to Los Angeles to have more access to seafood and then discovered I am a die hard Eastsider and land lubber. Alas, its been hard finding a solid seafood dish until Sawyer came into my life! Big Fan! You should go and check it out! Rounding out my random foodie post that has nothing to do with real […]

Helpful Tips For Concurrent Closing

This year my team and I have been the queens of the concurrent close! What is a concurrent close you ask? Well, a concurrent close is the term used in real estate when you are selling your home and using those proceeds to purchase your next home. If you think buying one home is rough, try selling and then buying another at the SAME TIME! Don’t worry, we’ve got a few tips and tricks to make this a lot less stressful. 1) Obtain and net sheet from your realtor that will give you a loose estimate based on your comps (comparable property value analysis) 2) Speak with a loan officer first to determine your new purchase amount (be conservative when discussing the amount of cash you have to […]
