Best Places to Eat in Echo Park

Image

Echo Park is known for casual hipster shops, some amazing dive bars, a nice park and lake, and a beautiful hilly landscape with incredible homes gazing out at views of downtown. Especially notable are the large Victorian homes that speckle the landscape just a short distance off the main strip of Sunset Blvd. A little more credit is due to Echo Park for their emerging restaurant scene, which is often over shadowed by nearby Downtown Los Angeles and even Silver Lake. If you’re interested in dining out in Echo Park, here’s a list of some of the Best Places to Eat in Echo Park.

Masa of Echo Park

Located right on Sunset, you’ll find some of the best Italian food in the area. However, if you’re from Chicago, or if you just love Chicago style pizza, this is your joint. They get it right when it comes to true deep dish pizza.

Elf Café

“Hipster Mediterranean” is a fun way to describe Elf Café, and oddly enough is a pretty prominent trend in food on the East Side of Hollywood in Los Angeles. This is a great place for Vegetarians and Vegans looking for quality, savory choices for dishes at a moderate price. Very charming, intimate setting for dinner.

The Park

At this very community-bases local eatery, you’ll get a nice collection of Modern American fare in a homey, bistro style atmosphere. Very reasonable prices, and food that brings you back.

Two Boots Echo Park

Ok New York folks, I didn’t forget about you. In Echo Park, Masa is for Chicago pizza and Two Boots is for New Yorkers. However, if you’re true to your basic NYC style cheese slice from Ray’s, Original Ray’s, Famous Ray’s or whatever else Ray’s…Two Boots is a bit different. You’re going to find more gourmet, funky options for pizza despite its roots in New York.

Mohawk Bend

Mohawk is all about the craft beer and gastropub trend in Los Angeles, and its doing it the right way. Very fun setting with a nice energy in the evenings. Utilizing the innards of an old movie theater right on Sunset Blvd, the space is beautiful and unique. One of the best beer selections in the area, inventive and well-priced menu, and a fun atmosphere.

Echo Park is one of those Los Angeles neighborhoods that is perfect all kinds.
